Human touch still important when recruiting for small and medium businesses

Despite the rapid growth in internet recruitment there is still a real need in the market for the established style of recruitment services, particularly for small and medium business according to Ms Denise Love, State Manager of Russo Recruitment.

Ms Love said small and medium businesses lack the time and resources to compete with big business in the 'war for talent'.

"Increasing compliance pressures such as equal opportunity, privacy and unfair dismissal legislation are pushing smaller companies to outsource recruitment rather than risk contravening the law.

"Many employers are starting to realise they also need a fresh perspective on their own working environment.

"A third party can give them this insight and also help them scope a position and offer advice on a range of issues including job specifications, KPIs and an expectation on the employee's productivity levels.

"Small and medium businesses want the right employee and that's why a strong customised recruitment approach is attractive to them.

"It's all about ensuring that their time and money is not wasted by putting square pegs in round holes.

"Russo Recruitment's client feedback indicates small and medium businesses use established recruitment services over internet providers because we:

  1. Understand their business and the sector they work in;
  2. Provide a quality database of candidates;
  3. Build long lasting client relationships.
  4. Value-add services and offer advice; and
  5. Listen.

"Russo Recruitment is really in the business of letting our clients concentrate on their business while we source and refer qualified and professional, contract and temporary staff.

"We focus on the specific needs and requirements of a business and our sophisticated database provides comprehensive industry information as well as quality resumes, references and assessment results," Ms Love said.
